Bench One Rep Max Calculator

This bench one rep max calculator allows you to estimate your bench one-repetition maximum (also known as 1RM), and also the maximum number of repetitions you can perform for the bench press at a given weight. It can also be used to estimate the same for many other common compound lifts, such as the squat, deadlift, hip thrust, overhead press, pull up and bent over row. You can choose your preferred unit (lbs or kgs) and select from three popular formulas – Epley, Brzycki, and Lombardi – each of these formulas provides a slightly different approach and method to estimation.

How the Bench One Rep Max Calculator Works

For estimating your 1RM, simply enter a weight you have previously lifted and the number of repetitions you were able to perform at maximum effort. The tool will apply your selected formula to estimate the maximum weight you could lift for a single repetition. Alternatively, if you already know your 1RM, you can use the Bench One Rep Max Calculator calculate the maximum number of reps achievable with a different weight.

Key Limitations & Guidance for the Bench One Rep Max Calculator

Please note the Bench One Rep Max Calculator results are estimates only based on mathematical formulas. If you enter extreme inputs—such as very high repetitions with very light weights or vice versa—can lead to unrealistic values. Also, the higher the reps you input, the less accurate the calculation results will be. Rep counts greater than 6-8 won’t provide very accurate 1 rep max estimates. So make sure you input a max effort (or near max effort) set in the 2-6 rep range. The formulas don’t account for individual variations in fatigue, training experience, or technique.
